Spring Diving Offered…Get Your Kids Back on the Board!

Feb 6, 2012   //   by oldfarmpool   //   Dive Team  //  No Comments

Dive Season at Old Farm will be here before you know it…but you don’t have to wait for our pool to open to get your kids excited about diving!  The weather may be chilly now, but the water is just right at the MAC.  Mark February 13 on your calendar and remember to sign up for “Diving Springs” classes through Montgomery County.  Diving Springs lessons and the Diving Springs Team are offered at the MAC (now officially the Eunice Kennedy Shriver and Sargent Shriver Aquatic Center). These programs are geared for divers who are true beginners and have experience in the summer league respectively. Sign-ups begin next week online so be sure to check it out! For more information, go to www.montgomerydiveclub.org.

Great job Old Farm Divers in the win over Carderock 46-42. It was a very close meet and a great one to watch! Thanks to all our fantastic parent volunteers for stepping up again to help out at the meet on Sunday!  Have we mentioned what a great group of kids and parents we have this year? Such a fun way to spend a Sunday afternoon!  Final meet results are posted in the Old Farm Dive Team Results area of the website. And we also have a bunch of pictures from the meet too!

Don’t forget that Halloween in July has been rescheduled for this Friday, the 15th … so dig up a costume and join in the fun with your friends from Old Farm Swim and Dive teams.  More details on the Old Farm website.

MCDL has t-shirts and hoodies for sale. Check out the Dive Team bulletin board at the pool for a flyer and please turn in to Denise or Dori by Friday if you’d like to place an order.

Sunday, July 17 is our final dual meet of the season before Divisionals and All-Stars. It is at home, so we really depend upon our parent volunteers to help run a successful meet. Please respond to diveteam@oldfarmpool.org to sign up for a spot!

Dive Team: Glenwood Meet Results

Jul 7, 2011   //   by oldfarmpool   //   Dive Team  //  No Comments

Despite some awesome diving and a valiant effort on the part of the 9-10 boys and their families who trooped back over to Glenwood to repeat their third dive, the Eagle divers were just no match for the mighty Glenwood team. Old farm fell, 61 to 26. A huge thank you goes out to all the divers,  their families, and our wonderful table workers and judges who helped us complete Dual Meet # 3 parts 1 and 2!!!!!. Please go to the Old Farm website for complete results and catch some photos as well.

A Word from Coach Katie

Hey OFDT! Just wanted to congratulate you all on another great meet this weekend against Glenwood. They were a tough team to compete against, but I’m proud of you all for stepping up and doing your best! A special shout-out to the 9-10 boys who came back to the meet on Tuesday to perform their last dive again- thanks for being such troopers. Keep up the great work and get ready for our next meet on Sunday against Carderock Springs! GO OLD FARM :)
