2010 DIVE TEAM

The 2009 season was another fabulous year for the Old Farm Dive Team. Under the tutelage of our wonderful coach and assistant coach, both new and experienced divers developed impressive diving skills and had lots of fun. We look forward to a fantastic 2010.

While we were sad to say goodbye to Old Farm Dive Team's 3 year head coach Mike Jasper, two year veteran assistant coach Katie Collins has stepped up to lead the Eagles this year. While she has taken a break from National competition, Katie continues to excel in her sport. Diving for Walter Johnson HS this year, Katie was 5th at divisionals, 4th at counties, and 5th at Metros. She will continue as dive captain at WJ in her senior year. She is thrilled to be head coach at Old Farm.

Continuing to cash in on the huge talent at Old Farm, Andrew Yanovski will be joining Katie as Assistant Dive Coach. Andrew has won his age group at Montgomery Country Dive League (MCDL) divisionals six times, placed in the top 3 for five straight All Star competitions, and has trained with a number of JO clubs in the area including MDC, York Dive Club and Metro Dive Club. Andrew brings an abundance of talent and enthusiasm to the Old Farm Program.

Finally, coming off her first, and successful, year diving for Holy Child High School, Angelica Vaccarezza will be offering her expertise and support as our "CIT" (Coach in Training). She will be assisting the coaches with our little ones.

As in most community-level sports, the Old Farm Dive Team relies on parents for support through judging and table work at all meets. Therefore, it is strongly suggested that parents attend one of the three Officials Clinics (see schedule below) offered by MCDL in June. This year, we'll also provide special training for table workers so that parents can feel comfortable helping out at the meets, regardless of past experience. More info will be coming in the future. You can download the official 2010 MCDL Handbook here.

Fees

The fee this year is $100 per diver. However, for the first time ever, we are offering a bundled discount if you also join the swim team, in which case the fee to join both teams is $175 (versus the normal $200). It is important to remember that the level of commitment is expected to be equal for each team if you join both. The fee is payable by cash or check. Follow this link to find the unified registration form for the swim and dive teams.
